[ about ]
The media cites an overwhelming number of statistics every day. At best, these ubiquitous numbers are ignored; at worst, statistics provoke cynicism and are cast off as easily manipulated, lacking context and dreary.
Statastic is a daily dose of data that helps wake you up. Statastics are answers to questions you never considered asking, numbers that inspire outrage at the status quo, or simply data that you can use to impress your friends and pets. Statastic focuses on one topic per day, but it’s a broad and irreverent view, sort of like using statistics to focus a fish eye lens on life, politics, and culture.
About Statastico:
Statastico holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and anthropology, an MBA, and some sort of driver’s license-sized certificate in “emerging markets” from a previously-reputable university in Washington, DC. Statastico enjoys cheese, long walks on the beach, Three’s Company reruns, reasonably-priced wines, and hyphens.
